Nagpur: Rivals open fire on gangster, wife injured too

NAGPUR: Ganesh Meshram and his wife Priyanka were injured after their rivals opened fire on him at Shantinekatan colony in Kalmeshwar on Monday. They were rushed to Mayo Hospital after the attack.
Police said Meshram, having several crime records, had targeted his rival Golu Maliya last week and also damaged his car at Jaitala.
Meshram and his wife had shifted to Kalmeshwar as his rivalry with Maliya had intensified.
Police said four persons had walked into the first-floor rented apartment of Meshram before opening fire from close range. Priyanka too got hit in her stomach as she had come in between the assailants and her husband. Meshram also suffered a bullet injury in his stomach.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered at Kalmeshwar police station against the four assailants.
