Minister V Srinivas Goud and MLAs C Laxma Reddy and Alla Venkateshwar Reddy submit a representation to CM KCR ...Read MoreHYDERABAD: A plea to form Mahbubnagar Urban Development Authority was submitted to chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by sports, tourism and excise minister V Srinivas Goud on Monday. He was accompanied by Jadcherla MLA C Laxma Reddy and Devarkadra MLA Alla Venkateshwar Reddy both belonging to the ruling TRS.
The proposal has been pending with the government and a plea for it was renewed explaining the need to form the authority.
The proposal is to include Mahbubnagar, Jadcherla and Bhoothpur municipalities in the Authority which have a population of 3.27 lakh. In addition, nine mandals including Mahbubnagar rural, Deverkadra, Jadcherla, Bhoothpur, Balanagar, Rajapur, Nawabpet, Addakal and Musapet were asked to be included.
In the representation, it was pointed out that Mahbubnagar, Jadcherla and Bhoothpur were close to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and less than 80km from Hyderabad. Jadcherla has the Polepally SEZ and many layouts were also being developed. Mahbubnagar town has the SVS Medical college at Yenugonda and Palamoor University at Bandameedipally. An ‘Information Technology Park’ has also been proposed in Mahbubnagar town.
The formation of Mahbubnagar Urban Development Authority will facilitate speedy development in the areas that will form part of it, the representation said.
