Rohan Edlabadkar excels in Aryabhatta Maths competition
Rohan Edlabadkar, scored 70 % in the Aryabhatta National Maths Competition, recently conducted by the All India Council of Technical Skill Development jointly with IIT Bombay.

PUNE: A grade 4 student of the Victorious Kidss Educares (VKE), Rohan Edlabadkar, scored 70 % in the Aryabhatta National Maths Competition, recently conducted by the All India Council of Technical Skill Development jointly with IIT Bombay. Following his impressive performance in this competition he has also been selected for a global mathematics competition called Bricmath with students participating from seven other countries.
On Rohan’s performance in the Aryabhatta competition, president of VKE, Robbin Ghosh, said that, “Rohan at the age of just 9 was enrolled by his parents to understand his level of understanding, to see how he participates in a competitive exam. While he wasn’t even eligible for the category, he wanted to attempt it. Therefore, he studied, practiced, and gave the exam with full academic honesty, enthusiasm, and confidence and excelled."
The complexity of the questions was equivalent to class 9 or 10 of CBSE and ICSE Maths curriculum. The exam was multiple choice questions with negative marking. The exam constituted 30 questions to be solved in 45 minutes.The syllabus covered following topics, Ratio and Proportions, Money, profit, and Loss, Comparing quantities, Time and Calendar, HCF and LCM and Area calculation.
Rohan is currently in preparatory phase i.e. round 1 of Bricmath, and have his subsequent rounds in the upcoming months, said a statement issued by the school.
