According to Bhuvan Goel, of S.Ka Diamonds & Solitaires, choker necklaces always prove to be significant in style when it comes to ethnic Indian jewellery. “You can team them up with strapless necklines, deep neck blouses and lehengas,” says Goel.

Pearl necklaces look spectacular when harmonized with traditional Indian wear, feels Bhuvan. “Lustrous sea pearls when strung with uncut diamonds, Kundan work, gold, and emerald gives a classy look. They can be paired with saris to give that perfect Indian look,” adds the jeweller.

Rings

Delhi-based stylist, Divya Narula feels the beauty of teaming up jewellery with Indian wear lies in minimalism. “Indian wear is in itself so beautiful, you hardly need to highlight it with jewellery, in fact, little accessorization can take you a long way. I suggest pairing rings with ethnic wear, especially because they have the ability to shift the focus from one's outfit. Kundan rings, simple solitaires, emerald and sapphire rings pair best with ethnic wear.

Braceletes

Whether they are your mother’s bangles or your newly acquired diamond bracelet, hands should never go empty and Narula ushers a similar sentiment when she says. “Often, we accessorise with a metallic watch, but I feel women can always go that extra mile and borrow an heirloom piece, even a light diamond bracelet would complete the look, especially a sari or a lehenga.”

Jhumkas

Jhumkas take you back to the roots of Indian tradition as they are a part of the temple jewellery. “Another most essential part of any Indian wear is earrings. There are a lot of varieties of earrings and jhumkas, which can also be teamed with western wear for a perfect fusion look,” says Goel.

Maang tikka

Who would've thought that head jewellery would become a centerpiece for women wearing Indian wear, until Bollywood made it an eternal trend. “Maang tikka, is the most understated traditional piece of jewellery worn by Indian women and it goes perfectly well with a lehenga or a plain salwar kameez. I think Indian women also have the face for it, and every woman should try it. I am glad that all the leading jewellery brands have now come up with a maang tikka range, giving the accessory the importance it deserves," adds Narula.
