China is all to ease restrictions on domestic tourism even further after reporting no new local COVID cases in nine days.
On Tuesday, a directive from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism mentioned that tourist sites should be functioning at 50 percent of their daily visitor capacity. This would ascend from 30 per cent, and that interprovince group tours should restart.
The National Health Commission explained that on Tuesday, six new cases were recorded, all in people who had come from abroad. It has not reported any domestic case so far since an outbreak in Beijing that infected over 330 before it lost its severity early this month.
Since the outbreak started, China has reported 83,611 confirmed cases and 4,634 death cases. It does not include people who test positive but show no symptoms in its case count.
