LUDHIANA: Ludhiana deputy commissioner Varinder Sharma said on Monday that under the “Mission Fateh” of the
Punjab government, the number of Covid-19 patients getting cured in the district is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 592 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that 79 new patients have tested positive in last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 51,375 samples have been taken, out of which report of 50,123 samples has been received, of which 47,887 samples are negative and report of 1,252 samples is pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 1,918, while 318 patients are related to other districts/states.
He said that 48 people from Ludhiana and 34 from other districts have lost their lives.
He said that till date, 18,102 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2,919. On Monday, 193 persons were sent for home quarantine.
9 areas declared micro containment zones in Ludhiana districtNine areas of district Ludhiana have been declared as micro containment zones.
All these micro-containment zones have been sealed and the concerned departments have been asked to take necessary action.
Sharma appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government.
