Thane: Ambernath’s recovery rate of 80% is highest in MMR

MUMBAI: Ambernath, which has crossed 3,000 Covid-19 cases, has also got a recovery rate of 80%, the highest in the MMR outside of Mumbai. Out of a total of 3,030 Covid-19 patients so far, 2,427 have got discharged. Of the eight civic bodies in the MMR outside Mumbai, Bhiwandi comes second with a recovery rate is 72%, while KDMC has the lowest recovery rate at 58%.
The situation in Ambernath has improved. Till June 15, the recovery rate there was 41%. After Dr Prashant Rasal took over as civic chief in May, the civic body has built a 500-bed hospital. Dr Rasal told TOI, “Along with treatment facilities, we are also providing patients in our facilities games to play, such as carrom, and meditation facilities inside the Covid centre help them recover fast.” He said Ambernath now has a death ratio of 3.82%, which he wants to bring down to 2% by August 15 while taking recovery rate to 85%.
