Who is Sanjay Jain, the man at centre of Rajasthan crisis?

NEW DELHI: Congress MLA Rajendra Guda on Sunday alleged that Sanjay Jain, who is among the accused in the ongoing investigation into horse-trading in Rajasthan, had asked him to meet former state chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
Guha further claimed that Jain had come to him eight months back and asked him to meet Raje. Jain had allegedly asked Guha to join the BJP.
But who is Sanjay Jain, the man the at the centre of the Rajasthan crisis:
* Sanjay Jain, also known as Sanjay Bardia, was arrested by the SOG, Rajasthan Police on Saturday amid the ongoing political crisis in the state.
* Jain is a resident of Jaipur.
* The audio-clips released by the Congress purporting to be of "horse-trading" discussions, which it said, were being held between Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Bhanwarlal Sharma, who were coordinating via a Jaipur resident. The Jaipur resident was later on identified as Sanjay Jain.
Which camp does Jain belong to?
* The Congress alleges that Jain, whose name had surfaced in the audio recording about horse trading of legislators to topple the Congress government, is a BJP leader but the saffron party rejects the allegation, saying it has no connection with him.
* The Congress also released photos of Jain with Raje in a bid to prove his closeness to the BJP.
* On his Facebook page, Jain has photos with Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra during the oath ceremoney in 2019. His photos on his FB profile page also show him with Raje.
Case against Jain
* The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police arrested Jain, whose name had surfaced in a viral audio recording about horse trading of legislators to topple the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan.
* Jain was interrogated Thursday and Friday following which the arrest has been made.
* The SOG had earlier on Friday registered two FIRs under IPC sections 124-A (sedition) and 120-B (conspiracy) to probe into the complaint related to horse trading of MLAs and the alleged audio recordings.
* Jain was sent to 4-day police custody by a local court on Saturday. The SOG also filed an application seeking his voice samples. The matter will again be heard on Monday.
