Liberal Arts career options in India

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently released its Class 10th and 12th results. As per the past trends students of humanities are scoring good marks in their board exams.

Many of them will pursue graduation in Liberal Arts. By virtue of the training, the Liberal Arts graduates will build both critical and creative thinking skills and will be groomed to be effective communicators. The interdisciplinary nature of the program will equip the students to think and analyze a problem from multiple perspectives. Their oral and written communication skills will improve greatly; so will their problem-solving skills.

Students, keeping their job prospects in mind, opt for Liberal Arts course majoring in psychology, political science, legal studies etc. Studies have shown that engineers and managers exposed to Liberal Arts education do exceptionally well in their careers.

After completing their graduation in liberal arts candidates have various options either go for further studies as an analytics, client servicing, equity research, marketing, relationship management, banking, consultancy, HR, e-commerce, etc.

If you are looking for a job right after completing graduation in Liberal Arts then you can work in the field of journalism, advertising, writing, research, NGOs, financial analysis, banking and public relations, etc.


At Bennett University, students have the choice to select the Major from ten domains. These include: Psychology, Philosophy, Business Studies, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Economics, Political Science, English Literature and Finance.


The choice to do a Major in Finance, Business Studies or Marketing is unique to BU’s Liberal Arts program. These three majors are not offered by any other Liberal Arts program in the country.
