Bangalore Karnataka lockdown news dates rules: Amid speculations that the COVID-19 lockdown may be continued for another fortnight in view of rising Coronavirus cases, newly appointed commissioner of the city civic body N Manjunatha Prasad said on Sunday that there was no question of extending the ongoing week-long lockdown that is set to end on July 22. The government has imposed complete lockdown in Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts among a few others since 8 pm of July 14 till 5 am on July 22, PTI reported.

Karnataka was conducting 297 tests per day per million people, which is more than double the World Health Organisations’s recommendation, PTI reported state Education Minister K Sudhakar as saying. He also claimed that Karnataka was among the top 10 states and union territories in conducting tests. His statement comes against the backdrop of allegations levelled by the Congress against the government over its ‘failure’ to curb coronavirus spread in the state.

Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that Lockdown is not the solution to control coronavirus and his government has not received any proposal to extend it in Bengaluru. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) Mayor M Goutham Kumar has claimed that the Karnataka government may extend the lockdown in state capital Bengaluru to prevent people who are “still not aware and roaming outside their houses aimlessly”. Kumar has already sought an extension of lockdown for one week. He said a proposal has been forwarded to the Karnataka government in this regard. BBMP has started around 200 mobile labs to conduct antigen tests in containment zones in Bengaluru and COVID-19 hotspots in the state capital. This comes even as Coronavirus cases continue to surge in Karnataka and Bengaluru even as a lockdown has been enforced in the state capital and other parts from July 14 to July 23. For the first time, Karnataka has recorded more than 4,000 coronavirus cases and 100 COVID19 related deaths.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao has placed himself under home quarantine after his driver had tested positive for coronavirus.

On July 16, Karnataka has recorded 4169 new coronavirus cases and 104 deaths. Total positive cases in the state are 51,422 and 539 COVID19 positive patients have been admitted to ICU. A total of 925477 tests have been conducted so far in the state. In Bengaluru, 2344 new coronavirus cases and 70 COVID19 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. Karnataka is the fastest-growing coronavirus state in India and has climbed up to the fourth spot in the caseload chart in the country. Karnataka government has enforced a total lockdown in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru rural, Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad, and Raichur.

Bengaluru has 7053 containment zones. Out of the total, 5598 are active containment zones. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has released government quota covid19 bed status in the capital. In Government hospitals, 364 beds are available, in Government Medical Colleges 29 beds are available, in Private Hospitals 4588, In Private Medical colleges 940, in COVID care centres 239.

Karnataka governemnt has started a mobile COVID testing drive across Bengaluru. Bengaluru residents who are comorbid or senior citizens or symptomatic primary contacts can request doorstep testing during lockdown using following helplines. Coronavirus COVID19 Helpline numbers in Bengaluru are 14410, 108, 1912, and 104. If there is any Home Quarantine violation, RWAs must inform BBMP control room or Bengaluru police through WhatsApp 9777777684.

Bangalore Lockdown news, dates, rules, guidelines: 

A total lockdown has been enforced in Bengaluru city, Bengaluru Urban, and Bengaluru Rural districts. The lockdown began at 8 pm on July 14 and will remain till 5 am on July 23.

Bus services have been suspended till July 21. Taxis, auto-rickshaws, cab aggregators services, metro rail services are not allowed during the lockdown. The inter-state and intra-state movement of passenger vehicles is allowed for emergency purposes.

Shops selling essential items are allowed to open from 5 am to noon. Medical shops are allowed to open 24 hours. Shops and supermarkets are allowed to open till 12 pm.

Food outlets, hotels, restaurants are allowed to operate with online deliveries and takeaways facilities till 8 pm.

Flights and trains which are already scheduled will continue to operate.

Apart from Bengaluru urban and Bengaluru rural districts, the Karnataka government has enforced a strict lockdown in four more districts – Dharwad, Dakshina Kannada, Kalaburagi, and Raichur.
