Representative ImageMUMBAI: A 50-year-old man, Naushad Khan, has been arrested for allegedly killing his paramour’s husband in an orchestrated accident. Three of his accomplices have also been arrested. The deceased, Aahadullah Khan, a Govandi resident, was a civil painting contractor. He had taken a loan of Rs 2 lakh from Naushad and failed to repay it, said an official of Shivaji Nagar police station.
On June 17, Aahadullah’s body was found in Turbhe with serious skull injuries, as if he had been in an accident. A day later, Aahadulla’s wife, Yasmin, lodged a complaint that her husband had been missing for two days.
“Brother of the deceased said he suspected Naushad, citing the loan angle and the affair Naushad was having with his brother’s wife,” said senior inspector Kishore Gaike. “We grilled Naushad and later his aides.” The three aides have been identified as Ram Kumar (28), Noor Khan (38) and Mohammed Taqi (28).
Naushad told the police that he and his accomplices took Aahadullah to Turbhe on June 16 by luring him with a painting contract where they hit him with an iron rod. “It left him with serious injuries. One of the accused, Taqi, then crushed Aahadullah’s head under his van and they fled, said Gaike.
