Noida: The chancellor of the Noida school, which allegedly hid the suicide of a 14-year-old girl from police for nine days, was booked, along with his wife, on Friday on charges of murder and causing disappearing of evidence. The move comes two days after the girl’s Haryana-based family lodged a complaint with Noida police.
The commission for protection of child rights in UP has also sought a report from Noida police commissioner in the matter. Additional DCP (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said the FIR had been lodged under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offense).
Meanwhile, the notes found in the girl’s bag and the one circulated by the school after the alleged suicide came to the fore have been sent to the forensic science laboratory in Ghaziabad for examination. In the notes her parents had found in her bag, the girl had written she had been “wronged” in life. The one circulated by the school and purportedly written by the girl said no one was responsible for her death.
“The notes were earlier sent to a government-approved private handwriting expert in Delhi. The writing in both the notes matched. However, we cannot go by the version of a private expert. So, they have sent for tests in Ghaziabad again. The report usually comes in 10-15 days,” the additional DCP said.
In their complaint to police, the girl’s parents have sought that the boy and two girls whose names were mentioned by their daughter in her notes be questioned. The school authorities have also been accused of cremating the girl’s body in Bhangel without informing the police. The parents have alleged that the school locked up the girl’s sister in a room so that the suicide could be kept under wraps.
The school chancellor said they had given all evidence to the police and it was a clear case of suicide. “We have also submitted a copy of the receipt of the cremation ground and informed the cops that the girl’s parents themselves cremated the body without any pressure. A picture of the girl hanging from the ceiling fan of her classroom has been given to police. The family is making false allegations after 10 days. If we would have done anything wrong, why would we call the parents to the school and inform them about the suicide? If there’s an FIR, everything will be clear,” he added. The girl’s mother has alleged they were forced to cremate the body as the school had threatened them that the suicide note the girl had purportedly written could land them in trouble.
