Mumbai: Anil Deshmukh, Home Minister of Maharashtra on Friday declared that state government will fill 12,538 vacancies in Maharashtra Police. Leading a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary and other staff, Anil Deshmukh announced to recruit 12,538 new posts. He also added that the process will be starting soon and will conclude in December

Home Minister Deshmukh on his Twitter handle said, "In a meeting with the Home Department officials in the ministry, the 12,538 posts of the state police force are directed to be filled immediately. "Maharashtra Police to fill 12538 posts of Constable, Head Constable & Sub Inspector. The process of application to start soon.

Maharashtra Home Department has directed concerned authorities to recruit new staff till December end.

The state Home Minister held a meeting with Board and Ministry officials including Director General of Police, Additional Chief Secretary, Special Principal Secretary and other senior officials in Mumbai. Additional Chief Secretary Dr Sanjay Chahande, Director General of Police Subodh Jaiswal Finance Principal Secretary Nitin Gadre, Special Principal Secretary Amitabh Gupta and other administrative officials were present during the meeting.

GUIDELINES FOR EID-UL-ADHA CELEBRATIONS

The upcoming Bakri Eid festival should be celebrated in a simple manner in the wake of a novel coronavirus, said Anil Deshmukh. He also asked people to follow the guidelines.

The guidelines were allotted after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Anil Deshmukh along with other ministers recently met to discuss issues about celebrating Eid-ul-Adha.  "Bakri Eid should be celebrated in a simple manner this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic," an official statement quoted Deshmukh as saying.

The state government restated there is a ban in place on all religious programmes and people should offer ‘namaz’ in their homes.

On the other side, there will be no relaxation in restrictions for Eid in containment zones and people are advised not to assemble in public places on the day of the festival. It mentioned further that all guidelines announced by the health department, police and local administration must be followed meticulously.
