Fort building collapse: It was all over in 5 minutes, says survivor

MUMBAI: "It was a life-and-death situation. I am still in shock," said Deepak Gupta (31), a fourth-floor resident of Bhanushali building. A day after the building crash, Gupta and a few other residents visited the spot to retrieve their belongings from the rubble, with the help of fire personnel.
"On Thursday, around 4pm, I was on the ground floor chatting with a neighbour, when I felt the building shaking. People at the nearby photocopy centre also started screaming a warning," said Gupta. "Fearing the worst, I ran up the stairs to my fourth floor flat and got my father, wife and four-year-old daughter out to safety. Seeing my neighbour struggling to walk down the stairs with her four-year-old son, I grabbed him too. Almost 25-30 people ran down the stairs."
