The Government of Chhattisgarh has decided to impose fines and punitive action against those who do not follow protective measures to protect COVID-19 in the state.


Senior officials of the state told here on Saturday that the administration has issued guidelines from time to time for the prevention and effective implementation of the rules of infection of Kovid-19 in Chhattisgarh and now those who violate these instructions will be fined .

He said that in the case of not wearing masks in public places, Rs. 100, in violation of the guidelines of the segregation in the house, Rs. 1000, in case of spitting in public places, Rs. 100 and by the owners of shops and business institutions If found violating social distance, a fine of Rs. 200 will be charged.

Officials said that the Chhattisgarh government has declared it mandatory to adopt and follow defensive measures to prevent Kovid-19 from spreading. According to the notification issued in this regard by the Health Department, only the authorized officer on behalf of the District Magistrate can take action to recover the fine. In case of non-payment of penalty, punitive action will be taken against the person concerned under the Epidemic Diseases Act and Indian Penal Code.

He said that according to the notification, it is mandatory for every person going to and fro in public places, offices, hospitals, markets and crowded places and streets. Mask is also mandatory for every person working in office, work places and factory etc. In addition, every person traveling with two wheeler and four wheelers will be required to wear masks.

Officials said spitting in public places is prohibited. All the guidelines in this regard will have to be followed by the administration from time to time for the people living in separate houses and it will be mandatory for shops and business institutions to follow the rules of social distance.

There has been a rapid increase in cases of corona virus infection in Chhattisgarh. By Friday, the number of people infected with this virus in the state has gone up to about 5,000. At the same time, 24 people infected with the corona virus have died in the state. During the last one month, more than 900 cases have been reported in Raipur district.
