Covid-19: With split opinion in civic body, NMMC to take a call on lockdown on Sunday

NAVI MUMBAI: With Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation(NMMC) reporting a high of 352 Covid-19 positive cases and 10 deaths on Saturday there is a split of opinion among the civic official regarding the lockdown which ends early morning on Sunday.
Commissioner, Abhijit Bangar said that "we are getting mixed reports from the ground and a decision regarding lockdown will be taken tomorrow after consulting everybody. There's a split opinion."
Some people say that the lockdown should be extended because the average 200+ daily positive results were of those who got infected earlier. The extension of lockdown and it's impact would be known later this month, if the daily figure drops.
Those in favour of unlocking contend people have realised the need to strap masks and maintain social distancing as the lockdown was extended from July 14.
