Representative imageTHANE: A Marathi filmmaker cum RTI activist has been arrested by the Mumbra police for demanding money from a ration shop owner based in Tanwarnagar complex.
The accused threatened to file false complaints and revoke his licence if the owner did not pay up. The accused, F M Iliyas, had made a Marathi movie in 2011 and lives in Mumbra.
The victim went to the police on Wednesday when Iliyas called him up for money. He was caught taking Rs 20,000 on a spycam set up by the complainant.
