YAMUNANAGAR: A 60-year-old man from
Yamunanagar district died of
Covid-19 at Covid care centre of Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (MMIMSR), Mullana, in
Ambala district on Saturday. The district civil surgeon Dr
Vijay Dahiya said the deceased had co-morbidity. The fatality is yet to be added to the state bulletin.
“A 60-year-old man from Hanuman Gate, Jagadhri died of Covid-19 at Covid Care Centre in MMIMSR, Mullana on Saturday. He was a patient of diabetes, blood pressure, and hypertension and had visited in serious condition and breathlessness at civil hospital, Jagadhri on Thursday. After collecting his sample we had referred him to the designated Covid hospital in Mullana. He tested positive on Friday. The health officials in Mullana had put him on a ventilator on Friday night, where he died during the early hours on Saturday.”
About the cremation, Dr Vijay said, “We have sent the concerned teams to Mullana and the deceased man will be cremated at a designated cremation ground in Jagadhri on Saturday by the district administration.”
With this, the Yamunanagar district recorded third death due to Covid-19, and up to Saturday, the district has recorded 147 positive cases, out of which, 119 patients got discharged, three died and 25 are active cases said Dr Vijay.
A woman with low platelets dies, but report negative for Covid-19
A woman (71) of Jagadhri who had low platelets died at MMIMSR, Mullana on Friday night, but she reported negative for Covid-19 said Dr Vijay.
“A woman (71) suffering thrombocytopenia (low platelet level) of Devi Bhawan Bazaar, Jagadhri had visited the civil hospital, Jagadhri in critical condition on Friday evening. Due to her critical condition, she was referred to MMIMSR, Mullana, where she died late night on Friday. Her sample for Covid-19 testing was taken in Mullana and she has reported negative on Saturday”, said Dr Vijay.
