Ghaziabad: With an aim to get Covid patients admitted to hospitals within 12 hours of detection, the district administration has now directed six doctors to coordinate with three police stations to speed up the tracking process.
The doctors are part of the rapid response team.
On Wednesday, Ghaziabad administration had introduced a patient management system with an aim to improve the tracking method and speeding up the process of getting patients admitted. Now, the six doctors would have to ensure that each Covid patient is contacted and ambulances are sent to their homes on time. The doctors would assess the condition of the patients and assign hospitals in coordination with other facility heads.
Officials said that on the direction of district magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey a team of six doctors has been formed under the supervision of an additional district magistrate-level officer.
Each doctor has been provided with two assistants and one data entry operator.
“Every day, after getting the list of patients from their areas, the team would get in touch with the patients and verify their details. Next, they will get in touch with ambulance operators to ferry them. Police help would be sought in case it is found that a specified phone number is not working or a patient does not cooperate with the doctor’s team,” a senior official said. The set up will operate from the district collectorate where a Covid control room has been made functional.
The ADM will lead the team and provide all administrative support.
The mobile number and name of the doctors have been shared with the respective police stations.
According to officials, there are over 100 cases where the patient’s phones are found to be switched off, in such cases the call records would be pulled out to track them.
