The LMC building being sanitized on ThursdayLUCKNOW: After remaining shut for two days for sanitization after 11 of its employees contracted Covid-19, headquarters of Lucknow Municipal Corporation in Lalbagh will reopen on Friday. However, some of the services will remain discontinued for a week and a few will be offered online.
Municipal commissioner Indramani Tripathi said the decision has been taken to check overcrowding that increases the risk of virus transmission. Registration for birth and death certificates and issuance of documents required for getting domicile, income and caste certificates from district administration will be temporally suspended. Rent collection will also remain deferred.
The assessment and payment of property tax will be done online. Similarly, all complaints will be entertained through LMC website and Smart City App.
Only 50% staff will come to office, while the rest will work from home. Tripathi said only select visitors will be allowed entry in the headquarters.
