
WBCHSE West Bengal Board HS 12th Result 2020 LIVE Updates: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) declared the result for the Higher Secondary, Uccha Madhyamik, class 12 exam on Friday, July 17. A total of 6.80 lakh (6,80,057) students cleared the examination successfully this year with a record pass percentage of 90.13 per cent.
Even as the council did not release a merit list this year due to the pandemic, WBCHSE president Mohua Das announced that 99.80 per cent is the highest mark received by the topper. “As there is no merit list, we cannot announce the names of rank holders. However our data shows that 99.80 (499 out of 500 marks) is the highest marks received by the topper,” said Das.
The Science stream has secured the best pass percentage with 98.83 per cent followed by Commerce- 92.22 per cent. The pass percentage in Arts stream touched at 88.74 per cent. Among the districts, Kolkata topped in registering higest pass percentage followed by East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Kalimpong, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly.

Though the science stream continues to remain the top-performer, it has delivered better results than last year. As many as 98.83 per cent of students who appeared in the science stream cleared the exam while for commerce and arts the pass percentage is at 92.22 and 88.74 per cent, respectively.
The pass percentage stood at 90.13 per cent which is an all-time high in the history of higher secondary examinations. Last year’s pass percentage was 86.29 per cent.
Examinations on 14 subjects could not be held as the lockdown was imposed following a COVID 19 outbreak in the country.

This year, a total 7,61,583 students appeared in the examination out of which 6,80,057 were successful.
The pass percentage of male students stood at 90.44 per cent while that of female students stood at 90 per cent.
Among the districts, Kolkata topped in registering the highest pass percentage followed by East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Kalimpong, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, and Hooghly.
The pass percentage of minority candidates stood at 86.76 per cent.
From July 31 onwards, mark sheets and certificates will be distributed to schools from 52 camp offices.

A total of 30,220 students have got O grade (90 to 100 marks), while 84,746 students have got A plus grade (80 to 89 marks). More than 50 per cent students (3,22,056) have scored 60 per cent or more marks (first division)

CM Mamata Banerjee has congratulated the successful students. The minister in her tweet wrote, "Uchcho Madhyamik (Higher Secondary) results are out. Students are taking another step forward in their beautiful lives. Congratulations to them all, along with their principals, teachers and parents. The future is waiting for you."

2. Click on the link stating the WBCHSE Result 2020.
3. Enter your credentials.
4. Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
5. Your result will be displayed on the screen.
6. Download the result and take a print out for further reference.

The pending exams included major subjects like physics, accountancy, chemistry, geography were cancelled by the state government. For all the remaining papers that were cancelled, candidates will be awarded the highest mark obtained in the papers the examinee had written
The students can get their mark sheets from July 31. The mark sheet will be available from their respective distribution camps from 2 pm onwards
Students need to download their mark sheets and take a print out. It will act as a provisional mark sheet. For class 12 students, a mark sheet is crucial for the college admission process
