COHSEM Manipur Board 12th HSE Result 2020: The Council of Higher Secondary Education, COHSEM Manipur declared the result of class 12 (Science, Commerce, Arts) stream on Friday, July 17. This year, the pass percentage touched 86 per cent, highest in three years.

Chairman L Mahendra Singh told indianexpress.com, “Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam will announce the class 12 result through a press conference from the board office after 12 noon. The result will be available at the websites by 1 pm. The students can check the results through the websites- cohsem.nic.in, manresults.nic.in.

A total of 29,144 students appeared in the Higher Secondary examination this year that was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The pending class 12 examination on papers like Sociology, Engineering drawing, Elective Languages were held on July 6 and 7.

“The evaluation process of the remaining papers were concluded within a week from conclusion, whereas the other papers were completed by May,” the chairman said. The students will get their marksheets once schools opened after the lockdown.

In the state HSLC, class 10 result, the pass percentage was recorded at 65.34 per cent. Reshmi Nandeibam of Pitambara English School secured the top spot with 579 marks. Last year, a total of 73.83 per cent cleared the 12th exam.

Archana Hijam tops with 485 marks

Archana Hijam has topped the class 12 examination with 485 marks (97 per cent). The topper is from the Science stream. Khomdram Menaka Devi from Arts has secured the second position with 464 marks, while Justina Yendrembam from Commerce secured the third spot with 448 marks

Why exam was postponed

The COHSEM had postponed the examination of two subjects to be held on March 20 and 23 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, in view of the upcoming NEET and JEE examinations, it conducted the pending exams of the two subjects on July 6 and July 7.

How many candidates appeared in pending exam

As many as 3,618 candidates had appeared in the rescheduled exam across 51 examination centres on July 6, while 547 candidates appeared in 24 centres on July 7. The exam was conducted under strict safety protocols and with special arrangements for students from outside the state.

Check admission process for class 11

The state has reserved 15 per cent seats for admission in Class 11 in government schools for the students passing their high school leaving examination from other boards including CBSE.
