Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar (File photo)CHANDIGARH: Putting speculations to an end, the Monsoon session of Haryana assembly is all set to be convened in assembly premises, that too with the strict adherence of the norms of social distancing. With this the possibility of conducting online session has been completely ruled out.
The dates for the session will be finalized by CM Manohar Lal Khattar and his cabinet colleagues during the next meeting of Haryana cabinet likely to be held this month.
Meanwhile, the staff of Haryana assembly secretariat has started the preparations and the sessions and the MLAs have been told to send their questions and proposals for the motions to be moved.
Notably, Haryana assembly has the sitting arrangements of 90 MLAs in the house. Now as per proposed plans 45 MLAs will be accommodated in the main hall and rest will be given seats in the victors gallery which has the sitting capacity of 100 persons.
"We have sufficient space in assembly premises to conduct the session. Dates will be finalized by cabinet and the duration and proceedings will be finalized by business advisory committee. While the questions to be taken up in the session shall be finalized through the draw of lot," said speaker Gian Chand Gupta.
Notably, keeping in view the threat posed by outbreak of Covid- 19, there had been speculation of conducting the online session of Haryana assembly. But, most of the MLAs had advised against it as it was not possible for all glue to screens for the day.
