A large number of 900 foreigners who took part in the Tablighi Jamaat program were detained in March and April, in a bid to increase the coronavirus cases in the country and defy government orders. It also includes a 16-year-old child living in Ukraine.

The boy has not been officially accused by the police but his passport has been confiscated. She is placed in the Quarantine detention center along with her father. He was evacuated from Markaz on 31 March. According to the court order on May 28, those who join Markaz will be placed in various court-approved facility centers in the city after being released from the quarantine centers.
The 16-year-old boy is in a temporary detention facility (Prevention Facility Center) located in Jamia Nagar. He said, "We were supposed to return in May. I was to go to a new school in September but now I will not be able to. I was enjoying the trip here. I have come for the first time. I can't understand why I can't go back. I miss my mother, even though I talk to her and my two older brothers on video calls.
