MADURAI: A woman in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga committed suicide on Thursday night after murdering her two children by feeding them poison-laced food.
The deceased have been identified as B Kaleeswari, 34, her daughter Mangayarthilagam, 13, and son Abishek, 10. Kaleeswari’s husband Balamurugan works abroad.
Kaleeswari and her children stayed in Kurunji Nagar.
Before hanging herself, Kaleeswari wrote on the wall of the house that her landlord, P Karthikeyan, was the reason for her suicide. Police said the woman wanted to vacate the house. She might have taken the extreme step as Karthikeyan had not returned the lease amount of Rs 3.5 lakh to her on time.
The Sivaganga town police booked Karthikeyan, his wife Nagajothi and daughter Sundari under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC.
