New Delhi: China’s current aggression against India is a result of the disruption India has faced in the last six years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi — be it the economy, its neighbours or foreign relations, Rahul Gandhi said Friday.
In a video released on Twitter, the former Congress president said, “What is it about this moment in time that has allowed the Chinese to have the confidence they can move against a country like India?
“A country is protected by its foreign relationships, it is protected by its neighbourhood, it is protected by its economy …. And what has happened over the last six years is that in all those areas India has been disturbed and disrupted.”
Since 2014, the PM's constant blunders and indiscretions have fundamentally weakened India and left us vulnerable.

The 03:38-minute video is the first ‘episode’ in a new series on current affairs and history that Gandhi had announced he would launch earlier this week.
On Monday, Gandhi had tweeted that he will be releasing videos to counter the “hate-filled narrative” spread by news media. He had also said the first video would out by Tuesday, though the episode was eventually released Friday.

‘India’s strengths have become weaknesses’
Gandhi said the country is failing on multiple counts, and that explains why the Chinese have chosen to attack now.
“Today you have a country which is economically in trouble, in trouble as far as foreign policy is concerned, in trouble with its neighbours, and that’s why the Chinese have decided that this is possibly the best time to act and that is why they have acted,” Gandhi said.
The Congress leader also said India has disrupted its relationship with its neighbourhood, which would earlier work along with the country.
“Our neighbourhood, other than Pakistan was working with India and saw itself as being partnered with India. Today Nepal is angry with us. Sri Lankans have given a port to the Chinese. So we have disrupted our foreign partners … we’ve disrupted our neighbourhood.”
He also said the country is witnessing the “worst economic growth in 50 years”.
“Unemployment is (at its) highest in 40-50 years. So our strengths have suddenly become our weaknesses,” Gandhi said.
