Jharkhand CM gets threat mails, case registered with cyber cell

RANCHI: Security around Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren has been tightened after miscreants sent e-mails asking him to mend his ways or else he will be killed. The authorities have registered a case with the cyber police station in this connection and started investigation.
Police, however, chose to divulge little information regarding the case saying it was under investigation. director general MV Rao stated, "The mail has come but the case is under investigation. We would come up with information when we arrive at a definite conclusion."
Jharkhand police spokesperson Suman Gupta said that a team of the cyber police station is investigating the case.
Sources said that police are trying to locate the sender through the IP address of the mail.
The email states, "sudhar jao nahi to jaan se maar denge (mend your ways or I will kill you)". The sender has also threatened close associates and relatives of Soren. The mail was sent on July 8 while the FIR in this connection was registered on July 13.
