This model is helpful in locating almost all passenger amenities available on all platforms.HYDERABAD: To help rail users identify the location of various passenger amenities, the South Central Railway (SCR) 3D model of the station at platform number 10 on Thursday.
The self-operated 3D model was developed by the staff of Diesel Loco Shed in Kazipet to benefit thousands of passengers who come to the station every day.
According to the officials, there are 24 buttons provided in the unit and each button is connected to the particular amenity in the layout. When a passenger pushes the button for a particular amenity, rail users get a scrolling indication of that amenity and also a LED light is illuminated at the place of amenity and concerned platform in the unit.
“This model is helpful in locating almost all passenger amenities available on all platforms in the station premises such as the retiring rooms, help desk, wheel chairs, waiting halls, lifts, escalators, Foot over Bridges, refreshment stalls, water taps etc,” said SCR general manager Gajanan Mallya.
Secunderabad Station is classified as a Non-Suburban Grade-1 station in the zone with an average daily footfall of more than 1.8 lakh Passengers. During a normal time, the station handles around 240 passenger carrying trains each day, which includes sub-urban services also.
