Bengaluru sees most Covid-19 cases in 24 hours among top cities

BENGALURU: Bengaluru on Wednesday reported the highest number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours among all major cities in India. With 1,975 new cases, the city was ahead of Delhi (1,647), Mumbai (1,374) and Chennai (1,291).
The city also reported 60 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, surpassing Delhi (41) and Chennai (23), but closely behind Mumbai (62). Both Karnataka and its capital reported their highest-ever fresh cases and deaths in 24 hours. The state reported 3,176 Covid-19 cases and 87 deaths. Karnataka remained the fourth worst-hit state in the country, with 47,253 cases till date. Seven of the day’s fatalities had patients dying at home, while two were brought dead to hospitals.
