Gurgaon: The pandemic-induced economic slowdown seems to have had no impact on auction of commercial properties by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in Gurgaon. The authority managed to sell shops at double the base price fixed for the auction and collected over Rs 14 crore from the sale of five commercial units in sectors 46 and 39.
This was the first property auction by HSVP this year. It had listed 13 properties, including eight booths in Sector 39 market and five double-storey shops in Sector 46 market, for auction on Wednesday. As many as 51 bidders participated in the auction. Around 45 bids were placed for the shops in Sector 46 while six bidders sought booths in Sector 39.
“Five of our properties, including three DSS in Sector 46 and two booths in Sector 39, were sold and we received a total of around Rs 14 crore,” HSVP (Gurgaon) estate officer-2 Vivek Kalia told TOI, adding that the response to the auction was beyond their expectations and it was good to see the large participation.
The shops in Sector 46 had a base price of Rs 2.03 crore each and were sold for Rs 4.12 crore, while the booth sites in Sector 39 had a base price of Rs 67.16 lakh each, selling for Rs 75 lakh. HSVP had previously conducted an auction of commercial property in Gurgaon on December 3, 2019.
Elaborating further, Kalia said both the markets are in prime locations and auction of properties in these markets was done after a long gap. Commercial units were last sold in 2018 in Sector 39, while commercial units in Sector 46 were last sold in 2005. “These are very prime properties and economic slowdown has little impact on the demand,” said the officer.
