Man attempting suicide saved by alert cops in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The prompt response by cops of Rachakonda commissionerate has saved the life of a 50-year-old driver at Bibinagar on Thursday.
On Thursday morning, the patrolling teams of Bibinagar police station in Rachakonda commissionerate received an alert about a man attempting to end his life by jumping in front of a train in Bibinagar outskirts.
The alert was received through dial 100 at around 9 am and a patrolling team of Bibinagar police station consisting of constable D Murali and Home Guard Mallesh, rushed to the spot.
The two member patrolling team spotted the man, K Ramesh, 50, lying on the railway tracks. Police made him get up from the railway tracks and Ramesh told them that he is working as a bus driver at a private engineering college in Pochampally.
“Ramesh said that recently his daughter fell in love with a man and married him against his wishes. Upset with the love marriage of his daughter, Ramesh decided to end his life. We have counselled him at the police station and handed him over to the family members,” Bibinagar police said.
