So far more than eight and a half lakh cases of infection have been reported in India and more than 23 thousand deaths have occurred. The number of COVID-19 infected is increasing here, with which India has now come at number three in the global list of coronavirus. To overcome the coronavirus, India has manufactured two vaccines whose human trials have also been started.

The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has permitted the first and second stage human trials of two vaccines. One of these vaccines has been developed by Bharat Biotech International Limited in association with ICMR, while the other vaccine has been developed by Zydus Cadila Healthcare Limited. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Tuesday that human trials of the COVID-19 vaccine have started in the country. About one thousand volunteers are participating in the trial of two vaccines developed in the country.

Let us tell you that Director General of ICMR, Dr. Balaram Bhargava said that it is the 'moral obligation' of the country to speed up the vaccine development process to break the link of coronavirus spread. Bhargava said in a press briefing that two Indian vaccines have been successfully studied in mice and rabbits and this data was submitted to DCGI after which both vaccines were allowed for early-stage human trials earlier this month. Bhargava recently wrote a letter envisaging bringing the COVID-19 vaccine by August 15, which many experts do not agree with.
