Ajmer region stood 5th in CBSE class X result
Ajmer: CBSE’s Ajmer region has stood fifth in the country in the class X finals, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. The region includes Rajasthan, Gujarat and Dadar Nagar Haveli. It has registered a pass percentage of 96.93, a light improvement from last year’s success rate of 95.35%.
Trivandrum region topped the list with a pass percentage of 99.28. The worst performer this year was Guwahati region with a pass percentage of 79.12. There are total of 16 regions in the country. This year, a total of 1,13,897 students had registered from Ajmer region and 1,13,672 students — 45,164 girls and 68,508 boys — sat for the exam.
The number of students are slightly less than previous year as Madhya Pradesh, which was also a part of Ajmer region, is now under Bhopal region, which bagged the eighth position with a pass percentage of 91.83.

Ananya Solanki of Neerja Modi School scored 99.60%, the highest in the state and second-highest in the country. She scored centum in English literature, French, mathematics (Standard), social science and IT. She missed the perfect score of 100% by scoring 98 in science theory.


“It is the highest ever score till date. The next time I will make sure to not miss any marks and score 100% in my report card,” said Solanki.


A Jaipur school has yet again scored best in the entire Ajmer region. Rukhmani Birla Modern High School’s every second student has scored in the nineties. Out of 193 students who appeared in the exam, 106 scored above 90%. Several students who scored 95% and above have chosen humanities. Son of doctors’ parents, Ishant Sharma, scored 98.8% has enrolled for humanities with applied mathematics. “Yes, my parents are doctors but my interest lies in making my career in law. I will be preparing for CLAT exam to pursue my dream,” said Sharma.


A CBSE Ajmer region official has informed that this year those scored nineties and above have increased marginally. The exams had started from February 15 and students were lucky that right before the nationwide lockdown, it got over. “The result has been delayed this year due to the pandemic,” said officials. Meanwhile, the girls have yet again fared better than boys in the result. Making it a yearly trend, the pass percentage of girls was 97.88% in comparison to boys’ 96.31% pass percentage.
