Businessman detained under Goondas Act

Coimbatore: Police have slapped the Goodas Act on A Abutahir of Selvapuram for conducting fraudulent vehicle bidding.
The Selvapuram police had arrested the 46-year-old man based on a complaint from Sasikumar of Ponnayarajapuram. “Some people had pawned two-wheelers and four-wheelers through the auto consultancy firm run by Abutahir. They had already got finance by pledging the vehicles elsewhere and had not been paying dues. Abutahir used to sell the vehicles for a higher price,” a police officer said.
Police recovered documents of more than 100 vehicles from his office and godowns, and remanded him in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
