CBSE declares Class X result, 98.5% from Goa clear it

Priyanka Singh scored 99% to emerge as a top scorer in the state
PANAJI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X results, declared on Wednesday, saw Goa record a pass percentage of 98.5%. Of the 1,049 students who appeared for the exam, 1,033 – 552 boys and 481 girls – cleared it.
At 99.4%, girls recorded a higher pass perentage than boys, 97.7% of whom cleared the exam.
Schools in the state were delighted as many saw high scores of over 90% by students. Navy Children’s School, Chicalim, saw all 93 of its students clear the exam, recording a 100% pass percentage. Priyanka Singh topped the school with 99%, one of the highest scores in the state. “Our children have done very well,” said principal Anupama Mehra.
“Sixteen of our children have scores of 95% and above, and six students have scored 100 out of 100 in mathematics,” said principal Anupama Mehra.
All 135 students that appeared from King’s School, Margao, passed. The high scorers from the school were Juliet Varghese with 98.6%, Eeshani Pai Kane with 97.2%, and Aditya Singh with 96.8%. Altogether, 110 students from the school scored distinctions, of which 37 scores were above 90%.
“Our tenth batch of Class X has given us our best results in this decade. It was also a joy to have our largest batch of 8 CWSN students in our inclusive school answer the Class X exam. The diligence of our students, staff, parents and the entire team led to this academic success,” school chairman Melvin Pereira said.
From Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bambolim camp, 73 students cleared the exam, a pass percentage of 98.6%. Principal RA Patil said that Chinmay Ravindra Patwardhan topped the school, scoring 95.8%.
Patil, who is also principal in charge of Kendriya Vidyalaya I, Vasco, said that the school saw 111, or 99.1% students, pass. The school topper was Ayshee Dhar, with 96.8%.
Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Mandovi, Verem, Ravi Pratap Singh, said all 67 students from the institute passed the Class X exam and 33 had a score of above 75%. Janhavi Vivek Walke topped the school scoring 98.2%, followed by Anvesh Sandeep Bandekar with 97.4% and Samruddhi Shailendra Prabhu with 95.6%.
Singh, who is also in charge of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ponda, said all 35 students from the school cleared the exam with 27 having a score of more than 75%. Parineet topped the school with 92.6%.
Joble Bijoy, principal of Vidya Vikas Academy, Margao, said, “We are happy to achieve 100% results in the CBSE Class X exam. Ojaswi Phaldesai topped the school with 98.4%, and 64 students scored distinction, of which 27 are above 90%. We congratulate our students and teachers for the outstanding results.”
Green Meadows School, Nagoa, Bardez, Goa, too saw 100% results. Keona Sunil Rajani had the highest score of 94%, and more than 60% of its students earned a distinction, principal Kiranjeet Sodhi said.
Sunshine Worldwide School, Old Goa, had a school average of 76%, with the highest score 97.6%. “Altogether 76 learners appeared, and all passed. Ten have scored above 90%,” said school director Deepak Khaitan.
“From Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Canacona, 77 appeared and all cleared the exam. We had 38 scoring distinction and 66 first class. The school’s average score was 74.6%. Shivam U Mahto was the school topper with 95.8%,” said principal Animesh Pal.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Narayan Bandekar School in Chicalim saw Smruti Sandesh Gandhi top the institute with 94.8%, said principal Elizabeth Valsan. All 15 students cleared the exam, and four had a score of over 90%.
