Coronavirus in Tamil Nadu: Reduce liquor shop timings, unions demand

CHENNAI: The joint committee of all Tasmac employee unions has urged the Tamil Nadu government to reduce the timings of liquor outlets. The urged the government to fix the timings between 10am and 5pm.
A resolution to this effect was adopted during a virtual meeting of the committee on Thursday.
They urged the Tasmac administration to conduct Covid-19 tests for all workers employed at the liquor shops.
They urged the administration to foot the treatment bills of employees who test positive for Covid-19.
Masks and personal protective equipment should also be provided for employees, it added.
