Representative ImageCHANDIGARH: Thieves escaped with cash, gold and silver ornaments from a house in Indira Colony on Tuesday night.
In his statement to the police, Kusum, a resident of Indira Colony, alleged that she was sleeping with her two daughters on the first floor of the house. She woke up around 3 am and found that the almirah was opened and when she checked her belongings, she found that cash Rs 40,000, two gold rings and silver ornaments were stolen.
She reported the matter to the police and cops reached on the spot. When the police checked the CCTV installed near the crime spot, two suspects with covered faces were seen entering her house around 2.10 am.
The police recorded her statement and collected CCTV footage of the area to identify the accused.
In another theft case, unidentified persons stole spare parts and tools of motor mechanics worth around Rs 50,000 from the motor market of Manimajra.
The miscreants broke the locks of six small makeshift shops in the market. The incident came to light when the mechanics reached the motor market to open their shops in the morning. They reported the matter to the Manimajra police. The police have registered a case.
