A woman has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after an incident at a park in Melbourne's north-west.

Emergency services were called to a park in Gladstone Park to reports of a stabbing just after 3.30pm.

Paramedics took a woman to hospital in a critical condition.

Nine News reports there was also a suspected police shooting.

There is a large police presence at the scene at John Coutts Reserve.
