COIMBATORE: Coimbatore district collector K Rajamani, who tested positive for Covid-19, was admitted to Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital on Wednesday.
The collector had a mild sore throat and fever since Monday. On Tuesday, he gave a nasal swab and also complained of feeling slightly cold. Late on Tuesday night, the test results came.
The collector went to KMCH on Tuesday night for a check-up and CT scan. Since his symptoms had subsided, he returned home. On Wednesday, he got himself admitted to hospital.
“He has no symptoms, except tiredness,” said a district administration official.
Health department officials closed his office and the portion of the first floor, including the corridor leading into his office, for fumigation.
They were also making a list of officials, who closely worked with the collector, to test them.
