Four women held on immoral trafficking charge

MOHALI: The Mohali police arrested four women, who were involved in immoral trafficking in Kurali, on Monday evening. According to the police officials, four women had taken rooms on rent on Badali road, Kurali.
Inspector Baljit Singh, investigating officer, said, “After we received information about the illegal activity, one of our police officials posed as a customer. The deal was fixed at Rs 1,000 and when our official indicated us, we nabbed the prime accused with the money redhanded.”
He said the accused had been running the business for a long time in intervals. “They were produced before a local court which sent them in one-day police remand,” said the cop.
A case has been registered under Sections 4 and 5 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act, 1956 at City Kurali police station.
