Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reviewed the state of the economy. The economy is gradually being opened up after the 'lockdown' that was put in place to prevent the coronavirus epidemic.

According to sources, the Prime Minister has been holding a review meeting on various aspects of the economy. He took stock of the financial sector situation on Monday. In this episode, he held a meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and senior officials of the ministry on Tuesday.

However, the details of the meeting were not known.

Several meetings were held last week in which various departments and the NITI Aayog spoke on various issues. In May, the government announced an incentive package of Rs 20.97 lakh crore to deal with the coronavirus crisis. In this, the emphasis was given to small industries to stay in the market and revive the economy.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country is recovering from the 'lockdown' imposed to prevent the coronavirus and there are signs of improvement in the economy. He underlined the importance of both Jaan and Jahan (livelihood).

Although economic activity is seeing a boom, complete revival remains a major challenge. Industries are still operating below capacity. Because of increasing cases of COVID-19 infection, some states have announced a fresh 'lockdown'. New elections have emerged from this.
