In the Kota division of Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot got the support of the Congress MLAs of Kota division during the struggle over the claim of politics in the state.

Those supporting Mr. Gehlot include former Kabina minister Bharat Singh and former Deputy Speaker of Rajasthan Assembly Ramnarayan Meena. Currently MLAs from Sangod and Peepalda assembly seats respectively of the district, both of whom were not contenders for Kabina's ministerial post and supported Ashok Gehlot, but now it was expected. Currently, an influential MLA from Kota (North) in Kota district, Shanti Dhariwal is also a powerful minister in the state government and during the current upsurge, he was the one who moved the motion in favor of Mr. Gehlot. Apart from him, Pramod Jain Bhaya (Anta) from Baran district and Ashok Chandna (Hidoli) from Bundi district are ministers in the present government and both are strong supporters of Chief Minister Mr. Gehlot. Now the elder Daromdar is on MLA Bharat Singh and Ramnarayan Meena, who have always been influential Congress leaders and are also strong contenders for the post of minister.

Karan Singh Rathore, a former Congress MLA from Chhabra seat in Baran district, considered a strong supporter of Shri Gehlot, said that Mr. Gehlot is the most recognized, all-accepted and popular leader of Rajasthan. He was everyone's first choice as Chief Minister. He was also elected by the Legislature Party as its leader and he also deserves this honor.
