CBSE Class 10 results: Pass percentage at record high of 91.46 per cent

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the class 10th results with record 91.46 passing percentage

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the class 10th results of this year on Wednesday. Students can check the results on its official website at cbseresults.nic.in. 

Talking about the state wise results, Trivandrum region top highest in region-wise passing percentage with 99.28 per cent.

This year the CBSE examination had a total of 18,85,885 students who had enrolled for Class 10 examination of which 18,73,015 students had appeared for the examination. Out of those, 17,13,121 students passed in all subjects.  In 2019 the percentage of passing was 91.10 per cent. This year, it now went to 91.46 per cent. It has increased the overall percentage of 0.36 per cent.

 The examination was held across India from February 15, 2020, to March 20, 2020, in the 5,377 centres of the 20,387 schools.

There are total 16 regions of CBSE in which the Trivandrum region has topped with 99.28 per cent in which students have managed to clear in all the subjects followed by Chennai with 98.95 per cent, Bengaluru with 98.23 per cent and Pune with 98.05 per cent.

Rest region like Ajmer with 96.93 per cent, Panchkula 94.31 per cent, Bhuvaneshwar with 93.20 per cent, Bhopal -92.86 per cent, Chandigarh 91.83 per cent, Patna 90.69 per cent, Dehradun 89.72 per cent, Prayagraj 89.12 per cent, Noida with 87.51 per cent, Delhi West by 85.96 per cent, Delhi East by 85.79 per cent and Guwahati with 79.12 per cent.  

This year, CBSE has considered the results on the basis of alternative assessment scheme.

1. If a student appeared for more than three subjects before the examinations were cancelled, an average score will be calculated taking into account the three subjects in which the student scored highest.

2. For those students who appeared in lesser exams, the average will be based on the two highest-scoring subjects and fixed to the remaining papers.

3. For those who appeared in less than three exams, results will be calculated based on the marks in the appeared subjects along with their performance in internal, practical or project.
