NEW DELHI: Skoda Auto India on Wednesday launched the new base variant of Rapid at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Skoda Rapid facelift was introduced post-lockdown in 1.0TSI engine, offering 110 PS. The new engine claims to deliver 23% increase in fuel efficiency, 14% rise in torque, and 5% upsurge in power over the outgoing MPI engine.
The Rider variant was silently phased out last week. The exteriors pack black signature grille, side foils, glossy black décor on the B pillars.
The interior is laid in dual-tone ebony sand interiors, with ivory slate upholstery, stainless steel scuff plates with RAPID inscription. The 16.51-cm colour touchscreen central infotainment system comes with SmartLink™ technology that is compatible with MirrorLink®, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Skoda Rapid Rider is available in Candy White, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, and Toffee Brown colour options.
Skoda Rapid competes with the likes of VW Vento, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.
