Coronavirus in Coimbatore: Seven cops at Madukkarai police station test positive for Covid-19

COIMBATORE: Seven cops, including two special sub- inspectors, four male constables and a woman constable at the Madukkarai police station in Coimbatore district, tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. The station is closed for fumigation.
Coimbatore district superintendent of police Ara Arularasu said the cops had been on bandobast duty and engaged in vehicle checks too.
"We don't know how they got infected. The station is closed for fumigation. The station will function from a nearby marriage hall," said SP.
The cops who tested positive for Covid-19 were admitted to ESI Hospital. Swab samples will be taken from 30 personnel at the police station.
