Amber Heard's former personal assistant has sensationally accused her of 'stealing' her sexual assault narrative and 'twisting' it to benefit herself after she confided in the actress that she was brutally raped at knifepoint.
In a bombshell court declaration obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, Kate James recounts how she was woken in the night by a machete-wielding stranger and violently attacked for hours.
Years later she says she was left 'distressed and outraged' when she read documents relating to Heard's alleged domestic ordeal at the hands of ex-husband Johnny Depp and instantly recognized her own experiences.
Ms Heard 'had in fact stolen my sexual violence conversation with her and twisted it into her own story to benefit herself,' James alleges in her July 7 declaration.

James, who says she worked for Heard from April 2012 to February 2015, writes: 'When I was 26 years old and travelling around Brazil, I was violently raped by an unknown male at machete point, having been woken by the perpetrator whilst sleeping along in my dwelling.

'This attack went on for 5-6 hours and I narrowly escaped with my life. This tortuous experience of such extreme sexual violence has haunted me ever since.'
James recalls that in 2013 Heard, 34, her then-employer, overheard her discussing the attack with a friend and 'summoned' her to an office to ask questions about it.
'We sat on her couch and she questioned me about it,' James alleges. 'She was curious as to how I coped with it on a daily basis and she suggested I buy a gun.
'I was shocked at that suggestion as I would not consider having a gun in my home with a small child around.
'I responded that I chose to see myself as a ''rape survivor'' and not a 'rape victim', and that is how I found my own way to cope.'
James later agreed to give testimony in the upcoming defamation battle in Fairfax County, Virginia between Heard and Depp.

'On June 25, 2020, I received documents pertaining to my involvement on behalf of the claimant in this case,' James adds in her declaration.
'As I perused the documents, much to my utter shock and dismay, I discovered that Ms Heard had in fact stolen my sexual violence conversation with her and twisted it into her own story to benefit herself.
'This of course caused me extreme distress and outrage that she would dare to attempt to use the mostly harrowing experience of my life as her own narrative.'

James is due to give evidence in the two suits involving Depp and Heard, beginning with the ongoing defamation case in London which accuses the UK's Sun newspaper of unfairly branding him a 'wife-beater'.
She will also give further evidence when the former couple squares up again next January in Virginia.
Depp and Heard met on the set of The Rum Diary back in 2011 and married four years later before a now-infamous blowout fight in May 2016 proved the final nail in their chaotic relationship.
They agreed to a $7million divorce settlement in August of that year however their feud reignited when Heard's op-ed was published in December 2018.

It didn't mention Depp by name but he nonetheless sued her the following March, saying it led to speculation that he was the abuser and caused him to lose the role of Captain Jack Sparrow.
Depp has always argued that he was the victim of an 'elaborate hoax' instigated by his ex-wife, who 'faked' her injuries with makeup and falsified accounts of abuse.
'Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse; she is the perpetrator,' his suit alleges.
'She hit, punched and kicked me. She also repeatedly and frequently threw objects into my body and head, including heavy bottles, soda cans, burning candles, television remote controls and paint thinner cans, which severely injured me.'
Heard responded with a 300-page filing of her own, cataloging the years of alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of 'the monster' and recalling many of the allegations she made during their divorce.
These included a blood-curdling account of how Depp cut off his own finger after a booze and ecstasy bender one month into their marriage, an accusation he denies.
