The second phase of lockdown in Maharashtra will start from 18 July
Maharashtra: The second phase of lockdown will commence from July 18th till July 23rd. Medical stores, dairies, hospitals and essential services will be allowed to remain open as per Shekhar Gaikwad, Commissioner of Pune Municipal Commission.
Will take part in the India-European Union (EU) Summit at 4:30 PM today. I am confident this Summit will further strengthen our economic as well as cultural linkages with Europe.

Uttarakhand: 3 killed in Dehradun building collapse, rescue operation underway
- Three people have been found dead and three others were rescued after a building collapsed in Dehradun's Chukkuwala area in Uttarakhand early on Wednesday.
- "The rescue operation is still on," said Satya Pradhan, Director-General, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
- A team of NDRF is present at the spot to assist State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for the rescue operation.

- The Corps Commander-level talks between India and China over the second phase of disengagement along the LAC have concluded at Chushul Border post in Eastern Ladakh.
- The talks began at Chushul post on the Indian side at 11: 30 am yesterday and ended at around 2 am on July 15. The meeting went on for 14.5 hours.
PM Modi to address digital conclave on World Youth Skills Day today

- This day marks the fifth anniversary of the launch of Skill India Mission.

US pulls out troops from 5 bases in Afghanistan as part of agreement with Taliban
"July 13, 2020 marks 135 days since the signing of the U.S.-Taliban Agreement on February 29, 2020. As stipulated in the agreement, the United States agreed to reduce its forces in Afghanistan to 8,600 and withdraw from five bases. US forces in Afghanistan remain in the mid-8,000s and five bases formerly occupied by US forces have been transferred to our Afghan partners," Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement.
Mumbai: Fire breaks out at Churchgate's Maker Bhavan
- A fire broke out in Maker Bhavan in Mumbai's Churchgate area on Wednesday.

Moderna shares soar over 16 percent after positive result in its coronavirus vaccine trial
- US drugmaker Moderna's shares soared by more than 16 per cent after the company said its potential vaccine to prevent Covid-19 produced a "robust" immune response in all 45 patients in its early stage human trial, CNBC reported.
- All the 45 patients in the trial produced neutralizing antibodies which are believed to be important for building immunity and provided more promising data that the vaccine may give some protection against the coronavirus according to the findings published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Taiwan tests it defence against China's possible invasion
- As tensions with China is escalating, Taiwan commenced a five day long live-fire war games exercise putting its defences to the test against a Beijing invasion, South China Morning Post reported.
- Chief of the General Staff Huang Shu-kuang kicked off the annual drill - dubbed Han Kuang - on Monday, giving orders from the Taiwan top command centre in Taipei.
- According to a military source, the first day involved simulated People's Liberation Army missile attacks targeting command centres, airports and military bases in Taiwan.
DSGMC starts free ambulance service for COVID-19 patients
- Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has started a free ambulance service for COVID-19 patients on Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji's Prakash Purab.
- DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa told media persons in Delhi that a total of 12 ambulances will be stationed in various parts of the national capital.
3 bombs explode near Kurdish military prosecutor's office in Syria's Raqqa
- Three bombs have exploded at the headquarters of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces' (SDF) military prosecutor's office in the northern province of Raqqa, the Syrian Al-Watan newspaper reported.
- According to the media outlet, the explosive devices detonated one after another in Raqqa's Al-Fardus neighbourhood, where the SDF military prosecutor's office is located.
- The newspaper did not provide any information on casualties.
'Not interested in talking to China': Donald Trump on Phase 2 of trade deal
- As tensions between China and US heighten, President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he is not interested in talking to China regarding a Phase Two of the trade deal.
- "I'm not interested right now in talking to China," Trump said in an interview with CBS News. "We made a great trade deal. But as soon as the deal was done, the ink wasn't even dry and they hit us with the plague."

Trump signs Hong Kong Autonomy Act, ends city's preferential trade status
- "Today, I signed legislation and an Executive Order to hold China accountable for its oppressive actions against the people of Hong Kong," Trump said addressing media on Tuesday.
- Trump said he signed Hong Kong Autonomy Act in the afternoon which will give powerful new tools to hold China responsible. The Act will allow the Trump administration to levy sanctions against foreign individuals and banks for contributing to the erosion of Hong Kong's autonomy
- The signing of the Act comes two weeks after imposition of the Hong Kong security Law.
US welcomes UK ban on Huawei
Welcoming the United Kingdom's decision to ban Huawei from future 5G networks, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, on Tuesday said London joins a growing list of countries from around the world that are standing up for their national security by prohibiting the use of "untrusted, high-risk vendors".
WhatsApp down, users in India other parts of world report connection, other issues
- Messaging app WhatsApp saw an outage in India and across the world in the early hours of Wednesday with thousands of users reporting glitches in the popular end to end encrypted application.
- According to Down Detector, which monitors and offers real-time status and outage information, users started reporting problems since 1:32 AM. Most users (72 per cent) reported issues of connection, sending or receiving messages as well as log-in problems.
- Many of the over 1.5 billion users, both on Android and iOS, were unable to log into the app. The reason behind the snag is yet to be announced by the company.
