Lifeguarded swimming areas in Seattle will remain closed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and budget cuts. Swimming areas at Pritchard, Matthews, Madison, West Green Lake and Mount Baker beaches were expected to open on July 1, but a spike in local cases led Seattle Parks & Recreation to delay reopening for an additional two weeks.
