Truck hits bike, woman, kids die

Parveen
Ghaziabad: A woman and her sons were killed while her husband was injured after a truck allegedly hit the two-wheeler in which the family was travelling on Monday, police said.
Cops said that the deceased Parveen (28), her sons — Faizan (3) and Rihaan (6) — and her husband, Asif, were going to their home in Meerut from Arthala village. The family was visiting Ghaziabad for the funeral of Praveen’s brother. “A truck carrying cement rammed into their motorcycle in Muradnagar area,” police said.
Asif said that he was driving his motorcycle at a speed of 50-55 kmph.
“Around 9 pm, when I reached the ordinance factory in Muradnagar, a truck hit us. The driver stopped 50 m away from the spot,” he added.
“He came to check on us and I requested him to call an ambulance. Both my children were still alive and I tried to assure him that I will not complain to the police, but he fled,” he added. “A passerby saw us and called up a hospital and police for help,” Asif said.
Amit Kumar, SHO, Muradnagar, said that an FIR has been lodged under sections 304A (causing death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving) of the IPC. “We are trying to trace the driver,” he added.
