Tamil Nadu Wakf Board election notified

CHENNAI: The state government has notified the process to elect members of the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board from the electoral colleges consisting of Muslim MPs and MLAs, Muslim ex-members of the Bar Council and board trustees. The elections will be held on August 19 and the results will be declared the next day.
Filing of nomination will be held on July 16.
The last date for filing nomination is July 23, while scrutiny is on July 24 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is July 29. Publication of the final list of contesting candidates is on July 30.
Polling will be held between 10am and 4pm at the office of Tamil Nadu Wakf Board, No.1, Jaffer Syrang Street, Vallal Seethakkathi Nagar, Chennai – 600001.
